Job Story
Primary responsibility is to assist with parking office duties and provide mobility assistance transportation for Parking & Transportation Services. This role involves front office tasks, customer service, cash handling, and providing rides on golf carts.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
• Answer front desk phone lines
• Greet customers as they come in, assess their needs
• Money handling (i.e. selling ePermits, taking citation payments)
• Provide accurate parking information to customers in person and over the phone
• Providing mobility assistance rides to individuals and/or at special events
• Patrolling parking lots on foot with enforcement handhelds
• Assisting with special parking-related issues, i.e. special parking lot reservations (erecting signs, barriers, traffic cones, staffing parking lot for special events, etc.)
• Working with the Parking Service Officers and helping put out Parking Advisory Flyers
• Assisting with parking complaints
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Preferred Qualifications
Monday availability, flexible evening availability (sometimes) and be able to commit to at least 20 hours during normal business hours.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
