Job Story
Are you passionate about storytelling, content creation, and connecting people through communication? The Online and Adult Learning Communications Intern will help share the stories, achievements, and experiences of online and adult learners at Wichita State University through writing, digital content, and community engagement initiatives.

In this paid applied learning opportunity, you'll gain real-world experience creating press releases, writing feature stories, developing web and digital content, and supporting communications for student programs and events. You'll help promote initiatives such as the Shocker Comeback Program, Parents And Caregivers Community (PACC), First Gen Achievers, and the Adult Learner Community and Connections (ALCC) Pre-Season Program.

This position is ideal for students interested in public relations, marketing, journalism, digital media, or strategic communication. Through mentorship and hands-on projects, you'll build a professional portfolio, strengthen your writing and content creation skills, and gain valuable experience communicating with diverse audiences while supporting student success initiatives across the university.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Create engaging written and digital content that highlights the experiences, achievements, and opportunities available to online and adult learners. Assist with press releases, feature stories, website updates, event promotion, and communications for student support programs while collaborating with staff on outreach and engagement initiatives.

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements
Applicant must be a student in Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS).

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
