Work Schedule; work is performed on-site and in person.
20 hours per week. We are open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Depends on student class schedule.

Job Story
When students are seeking clear, accessible information about financial aid and scholarships, our office needs creative communicators who can craft messages that truly matter. We’re hiring two Communications Interns for the 2026-2027 academic year to help us connect with diverse audiences and make financial aid resources easier to understand.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
- Apply principles of effective communication to create engaging content for students and families.
- Edit and update website content, design user-friendly forms, and draft branded emails.
- Script, record, and edit short videos that explain financial aid processes and share student stories.
- Work closely with staff to manage projects, meet deadlines, and adapt strategies to evolving needs.

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Required Experience
This is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and/or preferences.

Preferred Qualifications
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate-level student
- Majors in Digital Arts, Communication, Marketing, Graphic Design, UI/UX, or related fields
- Familiarity with editing and designing websites
- Experience with communications, graphic design, video production, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong writing/editing and storytelling skills
- Comfortable with digital platforms (web, email, social media)

Additional Information
This position is for Fall 2026 & Spring 2027.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
