Pay: Range begins at $17.73 and can be adjusted based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, schedule may vary

Job Story

Want to be a part of HOPE Services efforts to decrease deaths due to overdose? Apply to oversee our year-long community Kansas Fights Addiction grant. You will work with community organizations, health care organizations, and higher education programs.

Job Summary

Coordinates and/or facilitates assigned prevention project(s), which may include, but is not limited to, support for project timeline and deliverable tracking, team meetings, training, materials preparation, and promotion of services.

Essential Functions

Monitors project plans, schedules and budgets, including grant coordination. Recommends alternative actions based on tracking outcomes. Coordinates, organizes and supports project promotions to targeted audience, including providing education to related University stakeholders. Documents and tracks project progress metrics compared to goals. Coordinates and prepares reports, promotional materials and presentations to support leaders. Coordinates and/or facilitates project tasks and trainings as assigned. Allocates work assignments and evaluates services of staff and/or volunteers. Maintains relationships with internal and/or external partners related to specific prevention service area(s). Remains current on related trends and research literature.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include planning projects, tracking budgets, tracking project goals, maintaining relationships with internal / external partners, and overseeing student workers.
The selected individual will also engage in professional development in order to ensure best practices are utilized as well as work with grant organization to ensure all grant goals are appropriately executed and reported.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health, communications or related field
  • One (1) year of experience in mental health in higher education or related field. Every 15 hours of graduate college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of harm-reduction and destigmatized practices regarding Substance Use Disorder.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent computer skills and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn new programs and navigate WSU online systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a professional office environment
  • Ability to manage a budget

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience related to community prevention work.

Additional Information:

Due to the nature of grant activities, weekly schedule may need to be adapted in order to connect with community partners.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
