Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Perform quality inspection, dimensioning using advanced metrology equipment and install high precision resistor on advanced material test coupons, components and structural.
• Strain gage installation – Electrical Instrumentation
• Surface Preparation
• Dimensioning
• Bonding
• Soldering
• Quality Check
• Knowledge of ASTM & SACMA standards
• Quality Control
• Dimensioning of specimens
• Documentation of unsat(s) characteristics for MRB purposes
• Communicating unsatisfactory characteristics to the Program Manager
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate ideas and solutions
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information
