Job Story
Wichita GEAR UP South/West program serving students in grades 6-12 and first year in college.

Job Duties
Works with students at Hamilton and Truesdell Middle Schools and feeding into West and South High School to provide college going services. Monitors and tracks student academic progress, graduation, enrollment in college and FAFSA completion. Provides grant related activities such as workshops and college campus visits, academic advising, career exploration and job search, mentoring, tutoring resources, and summer programs.
Required Education

Additional Requirements
Associate's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Services or related field (minimum 60 credit hours completed).
6 months experience working with students in grades 6-12.
Valid Driver's license required.
Must be able to escort students on campus visits - which may include lots of walking.
May be asked to make community and school presentations.
Overnight travel to training and conferences may be required.

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Services or related field
Additional Information
10 hours per week (20 per pay period). Candidate will set office hours with supervisor.

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
