Hire Type: Full Time

Pay: $45,000 - $95,000 annually

Work Schedule: Typical hours are 7:30am – 4:00pm; may require evening / weekend hours occasionally as needed;work is performed on-site and in person.

Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.

Job Information

NIAR Sustainment is hiring a full-time engineering liaison to support customer communication, interpret technical data, and provide recommendations based on inspection results. This role prepares technical reports, supports root cause analysis, and participates in technical discussions. U.S. citizenship is required due to export-controlled work. Work is performed onsite in our Park City location.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating communication between the department and the customer. Applies engineering knowledge to interpret inspection results and provide dispositions and guidance for root cause analysis. Provides technical reports and recommendations to support the program. Interprets technical data as required to justify recommendations.

Essential Functions

Reviews and interprets engineering technical data and/or inspection results.
Applies diversified and specialized knowledge of engineering research principles, practices, and protocols to make recommendations and influence conclusions.
Prioritizes recommendations for root cause analysis.
Supports technical discussions with internal and external partners, including customers.
Drafts and communicates technical reports and presentations.
Assumes technical integrity of the research process.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of related experience in aerospace as a Liaison or Project Engineer; every 30 hours of related college coursework may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in technical writing.
Ability to solve problems, think critically, and resolve conflict.
Experience with liaison or shop/manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or structural engineering or related aerospace field.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methodologies, such as LEAN.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs.
Ability to position self for inspection, construction or maintenance of equipment and/or buildings including confined, elevated and loud noise spaces.
Ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially, both receptively and expressively.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation.
