Job Story
NIAR is seeking a Student Assistant to work directly with the Chief of Staff to assist with coordination of the Executive Offices.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
· General office support: including filing, copying, mail distribution, on and off-campus errands, assistance with tour coordination/tracking, light cleaning and stocking, and other projects as needed by staff.
· Front desk reception: provide support for front desk, including greeting and directing visitors, answering phones, assisting with parking, answering general questions, and providing customer service.
· IDP Support: coordination of events at various locations, including scheduling and coordination, on-site support, greeting, errands, set-up, and teardown.
- Assist Compliance team with visitor screening and associated tasks.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
· Proficient troubleshooter and adaptable problem-solver
· Ability to multi-task and think critically
· Self-starter
· Good communication skills
· Professional attire and presentation.
· Positive customer service skills and interaction
· Proficient in MS Office applications
Additional Information
Employee needed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours or weekend events. (20-30 hours per week, depending on enrolled hours/eligibility.)
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
