Job Story
The NIAR CAD/CAM lab is looking for a student assistant to conduct material testing.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
This is a part-time on-site role for a Material Testing Laboratory Technician located in NIAR MRO, Wichita, KS. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, conducting quality control tests, performing analytical tasks, and assisting with various laboratory functions.
Daily tasks include sample preparation, data collection, material testing, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements
Proficiency with Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Skills.
Experience in Quality Control and maintaining high standards.
Strong Analytical Skills and the ability to interpret data accurately.
Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in material science, engineering, or related field

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
