Job Story
We are seeking an experienced Counseling Clinic Director to provide leadership and direction in the administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of counseling services in the University Counseling Training Clinic. The role includes overseeing counseling services; collaborating with faculty, students, and stakeholders, and ensuring that the clinic is providing high quality training to students and excellent quality of care to our community clients.
Job Summary
Provides leadership and strategic direction in the administration, planning, implementation and evaluation of counseling services, which may include individual and group counseling, outreach programming, training, and consultation.
Essential Functions
• Direct the development of programs and activities. Oversee the coordination of clinical services and general operations within clinic including provision of training workshops and seminars.
• Coordinate and contribute to the supervision of graduate level trainees in the form of individual, triadic, and/or group supervision within the clinical setting. Provide clinical supervision to applicable licensed counseling staff.
• Consult and serve as liaison for departments and/or organizations. Cultivate relationships with local agencies and organizations to support referral pathways and collaborative initiatives.
• Collaborate with program faculty to track clinical outcomes, manage data, and report metrics to inform continuous improvement and meet accreditation standards.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in counseling.
- Two (2) years as a licensed counselor.
Required License/Certifications/Training:
State of Kansas clinical license in counseling (LPC or LCPC)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to organize, manage, and oversee counseling and play therapy services for wide range of client groups from various backgrounds, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision and training to graduate student clinicians, working closely with faculty and doctoral student supervisors to maintain high standards of supervision.
- Proficiency in handling scheduling, orientation, and clinic procedures to ensure smooth and efficient clinic operations.
- Strong skills in cultivating and maintaining relationships with local agencies and organizations, fostering collaborative initiatives and supporting referral pathways.
- Ability to collaborate with program faculty to track clinical outcomes, manage data, and utilize reporting metrics to drive continuous improvement and meet accreditation standards.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Frequent 60-90%
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Frequent 60-90%

Additional Physical Requirement:
Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time.
