Job Story
As a member of our Robotics and Automation group, you will be responsible for developing and designing automated systems for industrial applications. Our team conducts research and design for a diverse range of clients and is dedicated to advancing the field of intelligent manufacturing processes. Examples include systems developed to perform, automated inspection, robotic processing, and automated damage repair. Alongside developing these systems, you will be responsible for enabling digital twin technologies through simulation, verification, and closed loop sustainment.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
Enthusiastic and willing to learn from a variety of specialists in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
Ability to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate ideas and solutions
Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic understanding of advanced materials, and manufacturing processes, and an interest in it as a potential career.
Working knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, C+, and MATLAB.
Ability to work with CATIA, Siemens NX, or other CAD/CAM packages.
Ability to work with and understand complex systems.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
