Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.
Job Story
We have a Project Manager position that helps the University ITS projects run more efficiently. By collaborating across the university to accomplish projects timely, you will not only help identify and/ or implement potential solutions, but also enhance the skillsets of project members. We are seeking someone who has a strong ability to lead others, teach and model the ways to navigate situations to reach a positive result. Your focus is not only on growing team members in their Project Management skills and understanding but will include hardware, software, SaaS, data, security, interfaces, or other many aspects needed to accomplish IT projects. Job Summary
Oversees various system projects of a highly complex nature.
Essential Functions
Plans, monitors, controls and closes projects in traditional project management or works with two or more teams in agile approach. Assembles project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports. Proactively manages risks, barriers and issues across all assigned projects. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Designs, configures, tests, and trains TDX applications.
Job Duties
Will work independently with 4+ team members across multiple departments on evolving or complex projects. Most projects will cross multiple departments lines and applicant needs to be a good organizer.
Will be working with vendors and working through difficult scenarios with missing or initially faulty information.
Manages various sized projects within Information Technology Services and other functional groups.
Additional responsibilities will include Metrics and SaaS; and possible security camera projects.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) years of experience in project management team(s) leadership. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Manage projects with Project Management methodologies: Predictive, Hybrid, & Agile
- Leads diverse teams to accomplish projects.
- Designs, configures, tests, and trains TDX applications.
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Expected to model good project management techniques for all, and lead training sessions as requested.
- Proactively manages risks, barriers, and issues across all assignments.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Json and HTML
Experience in Higher Education, or business analysis, or LEAN, or Sigma Six
Preferred License/Certifications/Training:
PMI's PMP, or agile certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
