Job Story
Join the Adult Learning team where you will get hands-on journalistic experience covering the stories of shockers who are adult learners. You will learn to utilize your storytelling and communications skills to support various projects for Adult Learning. Get real professional experience as you develop stories of adult learners and make them available through blogs, social media, and other projects as required in a timely manner. You will be in a dynamic environment where you will act as the primary storyteller of our adult learners. You will be expected to be a team player and assist Adult Learning to help make the office more accessible for all shockers. It’ll be your job to make sure that their voices get heard.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Responsible for oversight of assigned stories
Writing stories and features of adult learners
Designing blogs, social media posts, and other media as required
Develop and post high-quality social media content on adult learners
Support strategies of Adult Learning’s marketing
Other duties as assigned
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements
Oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
High attention to detail
Able to work 20 hrs. per week.
Ability to work independently and on a team
Current Communications undergraduate student

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
