Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
General duties will include updating and maintaining the OFA's social media presence, designing event/program flyers, graphics, and marketing materials, assisting with online website content, video production, and providing copywriting and editing support for electronic and paper communications. Position will also assist with other duties as assigned.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements
The student must be eligible for Federal Work Study.

Preferred Qualifications
- Firm grasp of social media tools and platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Completed or working toward a college degree (graduate students or junior/senior-level students) preferably in a related field (e.g. English, Integrated Marketing/Communication, Advertising, or Public Relations).
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling marketing materials to support OFA programming.
- Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or marketing.
- Advanced computer skills (working experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency highly preferred in Canva/Visme/Adobe Creative Suite: Acrobat DC Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier, and Illustrator.
- Knowledge of website content management, HTML, and graphic design a plus.
- Self-starter, exceptional time management, creative, with ability to communicate in a professional manner.
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
- Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications a plus.
- Interest and experience in video production.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
