Job Story
Student will manage all aspects of Aquatics and Campus Recreation Events, as well as conduct all trainings in CPR/AED, 1st Aid and BLS for both student staff and campus partners.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Assists in creative marketing ideas, planning and development/upkeep for events and programs (website, flyers)
Develop a system for maintaining regular staff training, and other safety and risk management processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all governing bodies the highest quality standards
Maintaining proper chemical balance, troubleshooting the water filtration system, pumps, also providing regular staff training & drills to ensure compliance with all governing bodies the highest quality standards
Responsible for ensuring appropriate in-stock levels for both aquatic life and aquatic supplies, first aid, and front desk supplies
Partner with Leadership to write schedules for the aquatics department to ensure full coverage during the busiest periods allowing for all care and maintenance to be completed
Assign all necessary aquatics tasks to associates within the aquatics area including most aquatics maintenance duties
Schedule and perform training with all staff
Attend and manage all events hosted by Campus Recreation
Teach CPR/AED, first aid and BLS
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Lifeguard Certification
