Job Story
Responsible for service, maintenance, and knowledge of WSU Library stacks. Those services include:
-University Libraries seeking energetic student to help with the library refresh efforts.
-Must be available to work between 8am-11am. Afternoon hours can be flexible. Students can work up to 20 hours per week.
-Duties include: squatting, bending, lifting, and other physical work.
-Lifting materials weighing between 5 pounds and 50 pounds around the library for various needs.
-Shifting and re-organizing of library books and other materials.
-Cleaning of shelving components, stacks, and other library areas.
-Gathering statistics for projects as requested by the staff.
-Required to move about inside the library to complete assigned job tasks.
-Occasional exposure to dust and book debris.
-Other duties as assigned.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements
-Must be available to work between 8am-11am. Afternoon hours can be flexible. Students can work up to 20 hours per week.
-Enrolled at WSU.
-Good communication skills.
-Ability to work within a team.
-Basic time management skills.
-Able to follow written and oral instructions.
Required Experience

Preferred Qualifications
-Work-Study eligible.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
