Ennovar is looking for a cyber security student assistant to work at USD 259.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Maintain the highest levels of safety and security for WPS Students.
• Assist with support of antivirus, EDR, and next generation endpoint security platforms.
• Assist with safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
• Learn to recognize security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
• Recognize problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations.
• Monitor network traffic logs for exploits through LAN, WLAN, WAN and core systems.
• Monitor cloud and on-prem logs for access violations and data exploitation or loss and reports findings to supervisor for direction or resolution.
• Monitors and audits the IT environment to isolate and identify occurrences of illegal or unauthorized access.
• Understand IP based networks and assist with troubleshooting when necessary.
• Document processes and Cyber Security best practices.
• Monitor web filtering logs to identify misuse of internet access.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be self-sustaining
- Must have basic IT knowledge
- Willingness to learn current cybersecurity trends, tools, and innovations
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing systems, data, and potential security concerns
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
