Job Story
The Ulrich Museum is currently hiring for the position of a student assistant! Work Study, or work study eligible is highly preferred. This position assists in working the reception desk and greeting visitors, working as a gallery guard within the museum galleries and helping with programs and events.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Greeting visitors and relaying information about the museum and programs, answering and transferring calls, guarding museum galleries and engaging with visitors, visitor tracking, assisting with events along with the setup and tear down of events, other projects as assigned.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Required Experience
This is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and preferences.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in art and museum practices is a plus. Major or minor in art is not required. Experience in retail and or customer service. Ability to work some Saturdays and some evenings as needed for programs and events.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
