Work Schedule: 1st Shift is typically scheduled 6:30am – 3pm, Monday – Friday; Must be willing to work overtime if needed, including weekends.
Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a "U.S. Person”.
Job Details
In a hangar adjacent to McConnell AFB that once housed Boeing Air Force One modification facilities, the MRO team at NIAR provides production design, initial and Supplemental Type Certification, instrumentation installation, and modifications. We are looking for a Receiving Inspector to join our growing team!
Job Summary
Ensures airworthiness quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations. Performs inspections necessary to determine that the parts or materials meet their required specifications, with appropriate documentation and are in acceptable condition.
Essential Functions
Performs receiving visual and detailed inspections to determine the condition in accordance with appropriate and required policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, aircraft, engines, parts, components, tools, equipment, and/or materials.
Uses inspection equipment to make determinations of acceptance and ensure product conformity to applicable standards.
Participates in continuous improvement activities as an individual and within the larger organization.
Upon receipt, verifies components, equipment and tooling, are overhauled, calibrated and repaired by applicable vendors.
Review purchase orders, vendor supplied documents, contractual requirements, and applicable policies to ensure that parts and material conform to all requirements.
Ensures proper identification and documentation of parts, materials and supplies during receiving inspection, and that processes are followed for rejecting items during inspection.
Prepares and maintains required documentation in the appropriate digital and/or physical manner.
Researches, reads, and interprets engineering drawings and technical data as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent by date of hire
Three (3) years of related experience
Aircraft receiving inspection experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
- Customer oriented service and a compatible attitude.
- Effective time management to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow written and verbal instruction.
- Communicate effectively within quality department and between other departments.
- Ability to proficiently read, interpret, and communicate engineering documents and repair manuals.
Physical Requirements
Ability to position self for inspection, construction or maintenance of equipment and/or buildings including confined, elevated and loud noise spaces. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially, both receptively and expressively. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments. Ability to inspect and/or surveil materials, equipment, reports, and/or incidents and identify any errors, needs and/or determining factors. Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs.
