Job Story
The NIAR Maintenance Repair & Overhaul team is looking for a Quality Inspector.
Job Duties
Ensures airworthiness quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures with minimal or no supervision. Performs progressive and final inspections of subassemblies, major assemblies, installations, and related components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and drawings in accordance with the quality system for modification or refurbishment.

-Performs progressive and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and drawings.
-Ensures completion and compliance with applicable requirements and regulations.
-Documents discrepancies, analyzes and identifies causes, and coordinates resolution as appropriate.
-Provides advice and improvement ideas.
-Trains, coaches, mentors, technicians, and other inspectors in the performance of their duties within areas of qualification as needed.
-Performs or oversees functional tests, inspections, and verifications of discrepancies on aircraft.
-Ensures proper installation and operation of systems.
-Prepares and maintains required documentation; Ensures regulatory paperwork is complete and requested approvals are obtained.
-Conducts aircraft weight and balance procedures and aircraft flight control balancing in accordance with acceptable and approved data.
-Assists with research activities.
-Conducts internal procedural audits.
-Performs conformity inspections as needed.
Additional Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent by hire date.
Five years of aircraft maintenance are required.
Two (2) years of aircraft quality inspection are required.
Airframe and Powerplant certificates are required and obtained for a minimum of five (5) years by the date of hire.
Additional Information for Posting
Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs.
Ability to position oneself for inspection, construction, or maintenance of equipment and/or buildings, including confined, elevated, and loud noise spaces.
Ability to inspect work, materials, equipment, and/or supplies and identify any errors, needs, and/or determining factors.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation.
Ability to interpret effectively, accurately, and impartially, both receptively and expressively.
