Job Summary
Analyzes product designs and aircraft modification requirements to determine the manufacturability of components, assemblies, and installation plans. Provides technical guidance in the solution of manufacturing improvements. Conducts methods and systems studies to improve effectiveness in operational execution. Researches and improves processes and procedures to reduce costs while maintaining safety, quality, and schedules. Ensures that all documentation is correct in defining the process for operations.
Essential Functions
Collaborates with Engineering on desired tooling and build-plan methodology and gives input and feedback on associated design criteria; analyzes engineering design to determine manufacturability of components, assemblies, and modification installations Utilizes cross-functional manufacturing knowledge to determine tooling methodology, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing operations for new parts and/or assemblies from detail component fabrication thru aircraft-level installation; authors and maintains process plans for execution. Maintains the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to enable MRP processes for order release, scheduling, and purchased component activities. Writes and maintains integrity for routings and planning for details, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and aircraft level installations. Maintains configuration requirements from detail to aircraft level engineering requirements to ensure ease of conformity. Provides technical guidance to initiate corrective actions for modification issues related to engineering design, material, tooling, specifications and processes. Analyzes and interprets engineering drawing, manufacturing operation sequence, tooling function, process specifications and issues engineering drawing change requests to improve or eliminate modification issues during operations.
Required Education and Experience:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge and use of ENOVIA and CATIA
Proficiency using MS Office to collect data, to provide detailed and thorough analysis, and to create presentations with recommendations from the data
Ability to share critical information, speak with candor, and contribute constructively
Ability to strategically prioritize work, projects, and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to communication effectively, in written, verbal, and interpersonal interactions
Ability to think critically, identify problems, take initiative, challenge existing processes, and provide creative solutions

Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation. Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments. Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs. Ability to position self for inspection, construction or maintenance of equipment and/or buildings including confined, elevated and loud noise spaces. Ability to remain in a stationary position.
