Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Description of Services:
This is a research and applied learning project where WSU agrees to provide Student Personnel to perform the following Services. The Parties agree to the milestones and schedule of Deliverables as follows.
The following project will take place at Wichita State University and in its Digital Transformation Building.
Project description: The X70 R4 will be used to collect the in the information ordered activities:
Storage Efficiency: Measure Storage Efficiency ratios as it applies to compression
and Dedup using different types of datasets.
Performance: Measure the performance of the X70 R4 using Vdbench and different types of datasets.
Check the following features of the X70 R4:
Redundancy
Availability
Serviceability
Usability
Interoperability
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
Minimum Skills Needed to Perform for Scope of Services:
WSU shall assign Student Personnel to perform the Services stated above who meet the following minimum skills:
Working with a variety of Windows and UNIX-like operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, etc.).
Installing service pack and patch updates.
Operating system installation and maintenance on PCs and servers
Executing test cases designed to validate host software features, controller firmware features, disk drive functionality, and component (host adapters, switches, hubs) interoperability.
Documenting test results via test management tools (e.g., PyNT).
Writing problem reports that describe test case failures.
Reproducing problems in order to assist developers' debug efforts.
Providing test status information to test engineers and developers.
Assembling test configurations into a storage area network (SAN) (i.e., connecting hosts, controller modules, disk drive modules, switches and hubs).
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
