Job Story
The MDL is looking for a student assistant to process specimens in their lab.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Document specimens received by maintaining daily logs.
Prepares specimens for diagnostics or other analysis.
Transfers, handles, and stores delicate or hazardous specimens appropriately.
Maintains supplies needed for the performance of tests.
Assist with data collection or special projects as assigned.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
- Enrolled at Wichita State University

Additional Information for Posting
Ability to remain in a stationary position with intermittent walking between rooms throughout the building.
Movement may involve the use of stairs or elevators.
Ability to perform tasks involving situational awareness when handling biological materials.
Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.

Physical Requirements
