Work Schedule: 7:00am- 3:30pm M-Th occasional Fridays, weekends and/or evenings for CHP or University events

Job Summary
Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate the operations of a function(s), program(s), and/or department(s). Aids and assists during laboratory activities with faculty of various disciplines.
Essential Functions
Provide staffing and general office coverage. Answers, screens and routes phone calls, may include multi-line phone systems. Greets and directs guests. Serve as department liaison in university, college and department committees as needed. Maintains and monitors lab supply usage, inventory materials, and equipment on an ongoing basis. Order and maintain office supplies. Maintains organization of student records and some laboratory equipment. Supports the programs and services provided by the department by performing varied or related processes which may include campus tours, outreach, creating and maintaining databases and websites, monitoring, facilitating and enforcing compliance with established criteria, guidelines, and standards. Coordinate, attend, prepare materials for, and/or take minutes at meetings and special events. May assist in the preparation of budgets, grant applications, proposals, status reports and/or financial statements. May identify and pursue ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative procedures used by students, faculty, visitors, and staff. May be assigned to lead, assist, coordinate or support special projects as needed.
Job Duties
In this role, you will support faculty and students in their academic and research endeavors; ensure the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities; and manage administrative tasks with precision and efficiency. In addition, you will manage the admissions process for the Department Chair and Program Director.
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or related laboratory areas
- Two (2) years of experience in laboratory, general office, clerical, administrative support or related field
Required License/Certifications/Training:
Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office document creation and maintenance
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student, department, and college records
- Ability to commit to diverse workforce and student involvement
- Ability to generate and maintain information in an electronic database
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science
- Phlebotomy experience
- MLS Certificate

Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment.
Additional Physical Requirement:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to constantly move objects.
