Job Details
The Project Manager will support the Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Kansas program at FirePoint. The position will work with mission partners from across the Department of Defense (DOD) to connect emerging technologies from small business and academia with critical mission needs. The position will include leading projects from a technical and programmatic view, interfacing with DOD and Industry representatives, and developing strategies for identifying new project opportunities with our DOD customers. The selected candidate must have a self-starter attitude, be a problem solver, and be comfortable working with little supervision. Preferred candidates should have prior military experience or direct connections from pervious roles interfacing with the DOD.
Job Summary
Manages assigned project(s) to meet department objectives. Serves as point of contact in communications, coordinating and follow-up on schedules, deliverables, customer concerns, and change orders. Applies technical knowledge and/or expertise where applicable to ensure project success.
Essential Functions
Develops, reviews, and manages project plans, proposals, and objectives; creates schedules and ensures task deliverables meet customer expectations. Applies technical knowledge and/or expertise where applicable to ensure project success. Collaborates and manages relationships with internal and external partners and customers, both traditional and non-traditional. Recommends project budget and monitors and adjusts plan as resource requirements change. Addresses and resolves project issues to ensure goals remain on track. Provides mentorship to student and graduate employees as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related field
Six (6) years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications
Six (6) years of experience in Project Management, Prior government program experience
Preferred License/Certifications/Training
DOD Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
Ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially, both receptively and expressively.
