Job Story
The Molecular Diagnostic Lab is looking for an employee to perform and/or assist pathologists in the accessioning, dissection, and histologic sampling of a full range of anatomical specimens.
Job Duties
• Examines pathological specimens as directed by the pathologist.
• Prepares specimens for histological methods.
• Performs preventive maintenance and quality-control procedures
• Contributes to the general laboratory functions and institutional needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
60 hours of college coursework with 24 of those hours in biology, chemistry, and/or medical laboratory sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation.
Ability to inspect and/or surveil materials, equipment, reports, and/or incidents and identify any errors, needs, and/or determining factors.
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
