Pay: Range between $20.49-21.37/hr, adjusted based on qualifications

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8a-5p (occasional evenings based on events)

Graduate school can take some farther & that doesn’t mean they don’t need help along the way. This is where you come in, we have an open position that helps students along their path through their graduate programs.

Unique aspects of this role:

  • Collaborate on various initiatives within the graduate office.
  • Conduct initial reviews of exception applications.
  • Coordinate and manage professional development programs for students, throughout the year, including presentations and workshops. Record videos and manage social media posts to promote events and programs.
    • Coordinate the current rotating schedule of events, topics, opportunities & more. Manage logistics for events to run without a hiccup. Handling communication & announcements about events & opportunities to the student body.
  • Engage with students regarding dissertation writing, research aspects including deadlines and opportunities.
    • Gather feedback from students on desired events and coordinate accordingly.
  • Monitor and track expenses related to programming and events as needed.

Job Summary

Develops, implements, and executes programs and services to meet the needs of students. Responsible for programming, recruitment and/or retention of students, training, partners with other University resources, and serves as a resource for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.

Essential Functions

Plans, coordinates, executes and assesses programs and other related events in conjunction with student organizations, other University departments, and community partners. Plans, coordinates, executes and assesses trainings, in conjunction with student organizations, other University departments, and community partners. May serve as a resource, consultant and liaison to the campus community on student issues. In collaboration with leadership, regularly assesses all programs and services the office provides for effectiveness as well as assist in daily administration. May support the programs by performing responsibilities which may include creating and maintaining databases and websites, monitoring, facilitating, and enforcing compliance with established criteria, guidelines and standards, etc. May provide ongoing monitoring and tracking of program budgets.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • One (1) year of experience in student programming or related field. Every 15 hours of graduate college coursework beyond a bachelor's degree can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • - Energetic self-starter with highly developed organizational skills.
    - Excellent written and communication skills.
    - Ability to demonstrate a positive, friendly and professional demeanor in person, phone and written communications.
    - Ability to handle a large volume of paperwork accurately and quickly, while working under a deadline.
    - High attention to detail: ability to detect and correct discrepancies in information or records.
    - Familiarity and experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe in a professional setting.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment. Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments.
