Job Story
This position combines administrative support and public-facing project support responsibilities, requiring a detail-oriented individual who can balance behind-the-scenes administrative work with direct research and reporting tasks. You will work with PPMC staff to do data analysis and visualization, primarily with public data but also program data.

Job Summary
The primary function of a graduate research assistant (GRA) is to assist faculty members in their scholarly and / or creative activities.

Job Duties
Duties may include basic scientific research using laboratory facilities, computer programming or operation, data collection, correlation and preliminary interpretation of data, statistical analysis of data and writing preliminary reports. GRAs have the latitude to make decisions involving judgment and/or discretionary choices when collecting data, performing experiments, operating equipment, or assisting in studies or laboratories.

The AR&C team has a range of clients like state agencies, city and county governments, nonprofit organizations, and is involved in collaborative efforts. Our core services are: Survey Research & Qualitative Methods, Economic Impact Studies, Program Evaluation and Policy Analysis, Data Analysis and Statistical Methods. Our focus areas are: Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Housing and Homelessness, Emergency Services, Workforce, Education and Childcare. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, flexible, and detail oriented.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree

Additional Requirements
Knowledge, technical skills, and data visualization skills to work with public and program data (Python/R/etc.)

Required Experience
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission may be eligible for assistantship awards under certain circumstances.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
