Job Story
We are currently looking for 2 graduate assistants to assist with administrative tasks specifically within the advising office for the Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP). The program is a fully online program that allows for para educators to continue working as they complete their degree and become licensed teachers.
As the graduate assistant for TAP, you will answer various inquiries about the program and admission requirements from prospective students via email, phone and at times on-campus visits. There are also times that you will have other tasks such as pulling reports, organizing advising files, campaigning to students regarding completing admission requirements for the program and may attend program events (as those arise).
This position will take great written and verbal communication and the ability to multi-task well. It will also require intermediate technology skills, specifically in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, One Drive) and also BANNER.
Job Summary
A Graduate Staff Assistant (GSA) assistants university service and academic units in either non-teaching or non-research activities. Specific duties of the GSA vary widely, depending on the administrative or academic unit to which they are assigned, but should be at a level to make use of their education and abilities.
Job Duties
• Answer Phones and emails from prospective students
• Set up appointments for advisors using Navigate/Outlook
• Intermediate technology skills, specifically in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, One Drive) and BANNER
• Help prepare materials for program events
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to multi-task well
• Pulling various reports for Academic Advisors
• Processing admission documents and communicating with students through the program admission process

Required Experience
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission may be eligible for assistantship awards under certain circumstances.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
