Job Story
WSU Libraries Technical Services are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable graduate assistant to support our archiving and digitization efforts. This role focuses on the scanning and digital organization of textual materials using the INDUS Book Scanner.

Job Summary
A Graduate Staff Assistant (GSA) assistants university service and academic units in either non-teaching or non-research activities. Specific duties of the GSA vary widely, depending on the administrative or academic unit to which they are assigned, but should be at a level to make use of their education and abilities.

Job Duties
• Operate the INDUS Book Scanner to digitize books, manuscripts, or documents as assigned
• Handle archival materials with care and attention to preservation standards
• Ensure all scanned materials are properly filed, named, and uploaded according to organizational procedures
• Report equipment issues or scanning problems promptly
• Collaborate with staff as needed, maintaining confidentiality and data security
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education
Bachelor's degree

Additional Requirements
• Current enrollment as a student
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow established protocols and handle materials delicately
• Basic computer skills; experience with scanners or digitization is a plus
• Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Required Experience
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission may be eligible for assistantship awards under certain circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications
• Interest or experience in libraries, archives, or digital humanities
