Pay: Range begins at $19.10 per hour and can be adjusted based on experience

Work Schedule: M-F 8-5 Occasional weekends to attend university functions;work is performed on-site and in person.

Job Story

The College of Health Profession is looking for a team player to join our finance team. As a Financial Specialist, Senior, you will play a key role in supporting and tracking departmental finances, analyze and manage financial data, as well as identifying financial discrepancies. You will work closely with college leadership as you navigate budget and scholarship processes.

Job Summary

Completes complex financial transactions, which includes, but is not limited to, accounts receivable and/or payable, procurement card and transactional reconciliation, travel authorizations and reimbursements, endowment accounts, state appropriations and earned income, and grant funding using established processes, procedures and systems.

Essential Functions

Reviews, processes and audits complex transactions, compiles financial reports and reconciles accounts. Maintains accurate records, ensuring that invoices are paid and payments are received in a timely manner, as appropriate. Generates financial reports and audits and resolves financial discrepancies. Responds to inquiries related to account status, charges and discrepancies.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of experience in accounting, finance or related field. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for two (2) years of experience.

Required License/Certifications/Training:

  • None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to extract, analyze, and transmit complex information from varied sources
  • Ability to compute, verify and compare figures and detect discrepancies in information or records
  • High level of experience in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work under broad guidelines with limited instructions, determine and organize steps required to accomplish tasks with the ability to reorganize tasks as necessary to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.

Additional Physical Requirement:

Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time.
