Join our team and help keep our University shining. As a Custodian, you’ll play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and visitors. Each day brings meaningful work—maintaining assigned areas, restocking supplies, and ensuring our buildings look their best. This position will provide custodial support to Shocker Hall, The Flats, and The Suites.
You’ll sweep, mop, buff, and vacuum floors; clean restrooms and offices; wash windows and walls; and keep all spaces stocked and ready for use. Your attention to detail helps the campus run smoothly. You’ll also handle trash removal and, during winter months, help keep walkways, entryways, and rooftops clear of snow and ice.

Job Summary
Performs routine manual work in cleaning, servicing, and stocking supplies in University buildings.
Essential Functions
Cleans and services assigned areas in University buildings and maintains sufficient stock and supplies for the proper performance of these duties. Sweeps, mops, and buffs and sprays buff floors and vacuums rugs and carpets in assigned area as needed. Cleans rest rooms, offices, and replenishes supplies. Washes windows, walls, and other assigned areas. Picks up trash, empties garbage containers, and removes all trash to area for disposal. Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks and entryways as required.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to position self to clean designated areas, equipment and items. This includes but is not limited to the ability to clean in confined, elevated, and loud noise spaces. Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment. Ability to remove snow and ice from designated areas. Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs.
Additional Physical Requirement:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force to constantly move objects.
