Join Wichita State Athletics Communications team where you will gain hands-on experience covering the Shockers and their 16 Division I sports. Continue your professional development while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Serve as the liaison between the media and select sport programs.
Job Summary
A Graduate Staff Assistant (GSA) assistants university service and academic units in either non-teaching or non-research activities. Specific duties of the GSA vary widely, depending on the administrative or academic unit to which they are assigned, but should be at a level to make use of their education and abilities.
Job Duties
Responsible for sport oversight for assigned programs
Writing game stories and features
Designing fact books and programs
Developing and posting content on social media platforms
Support marketing strategies
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree
Additional Requirements
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Experience
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission may be eligible for assistantship awards under certain circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
Able to work effectively both independently and on a team.
Exemplify a strong commitment and willingness to provide outstanding service.
Strong communication skills
