Pay: $15.03 or commensurate with experience plus $.60 per hour shift differential
Work Schedule: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm Monday - Friday

Job Story
The position of Custodian is responsible for completing cleaning and stocking duties in assigned areas and may require the operation of technical equipment. Promotes “Green” cleaning and maintenance in day-to-day tasks and practices to advance healthier work environments. Job Summary
Performs routine manual work in cleaning, servicing, and stocking supplies in University buildings.
Essential Functions
Cleans and services assigned areas in University buildings and maintains sufficient stock and supplies for the proper performance of these duties. Sweeps, mops, and buffs and sprays buff floors and vacuums rugs and carpets in assigned area as needed. Cleans rest rooms, offices, and replenishes supplies. Washes windows, walls, and other assigned areas. Picks up trash, empties garbage containers, and removes all trash to area for disposal. Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks and entryways as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to learn the operation and care of equipment, including, but not limited to: vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment.
- Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to understand and follow explicit instructions, both in oral and written form.
- Ability and willingness to perform any of a variety of routine cleaning tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to position self to clean designated areas, equipment and items. This includes but is not limited to the ability to clean in confined, elevated, and loud noise spaces. Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment. Ability to remove snow and ice from designated areas. Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs.
Additional Physical Requirement:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force to constantly move objects.
