Job Story
The School of Social Work invites applications for a tenured Associate Professor position that will be responsible for teaching a range of Social Work graduate classes as well as undergraduate classes as needed and advising and mentoring students. Other responsibilities include establishing and sustaining a record of scholarship, and community engagement, participating in service to the School, College, University, Community, and Profession.

Job Summary
Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels using various instructional deliveries (e.g., traditional (face-to-face), hybrid, and fully online). To foster applied learning into the course design and engage with industry and local business community applied projects. To advance knowledge through scholarly activities (e.g., active involvement in committees, student mentorship, recruitment and retention initiative, outreach activities, etc.)
Essential Functions
Meet expectations for research, teaching, and service as set forth by the department and college.
Job Duties
Teaching a range of Social work graduate and undergraduate classes as needed
Advising and Mentoring Students
Establishing and sustaining a record of scholarship, community engagement, participating in service to the school, college, university, community, and profession.
Required Education and Experience:
- Terminal degree in direct field.
- Meet expectations for research, teaching and service, as set forth by the department and college
Faculty Requirements
- A qualifying doctorate level degree in social work or related field. MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited social work program.
- Three years of post-MSW, full time equivalent professional practice experience
- Successful teaching at the college level
- Evidence of scholarship
- Experience in leading pilot and/or advanced research projects
- Experience in one or more of these specialty areas: Cultural Competency, Policy, Research, Addiction.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a varied student population.
- The ability to carry out an original research agenda that advances the field of Social Work.
- Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising/mentoring.
- Excellent communication skills and collegiality
