Job Story
This position will start in the Spring semester of 2025.
Provision of didactic and clinical instruction for undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Nursing. Primary responsibilities include instruction of didactic, clinical and/or technologies lab
teaching/supervision in acute and community health care as appropriate for nursing students. You are expected to
maintain a willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and strategies in instructional delivery and learning activities, including online and blended learning; participate in curriculum development; apply
knowledge of evidence-based practice in teaching; participate in student advising; work collaboratively with other faculty in teaching and service; regularly attend and participate in faculty meetings and retreats;
participate in student recruiting, admission/progression processes, and advising; participate in inter-professional
teaching/learning activities; participate in curriculum evaluation and the development of program expansion including external funding opportunities; maintain knowledge of applicable curricular guidelines and curricular evaluation standards; act as a representative of the School of Nursing at activities as needed; assist in the
development of program policies and procedures; and maintain professional expertise and academic expertise.
Within your role, you will promote the vision and mission, as well as strive to meet the strategic plans of the University, College of Health Professions, and the School of Nursing. Participation in university activities/service at the departmental, college, and university levels are also expected.
Job Summary
Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels using various instructional deliveries (e.g., traditional (face-to-face), hybrid, and fully online). To foster applied learning into the course design and engage with industry and local business community applied projects. To advance knowledge through scholarly activities (e.g., active involvement in committees, student mentorship, recruitment and retention initiative, outreach activities, etc.)

Job Duties
1. Responsibility for teaching in the undergraduate nursing program
2. Participates in curriculum development and evaluation
3. Maintains academic and professional expertise
Required Education and Experience:
- Graduate level degree or higher in direct or closely related field
- Teaching experience
Faculty Requirements
Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program by hire date
Recent experience as a clinician in a health care system
Required License/Certifications/Training:
Eligible for/hold a license to practice professional nursing in Kansas
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1. Excellent interpersonal skills
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Computer competency
4. Commitment to building an inclusive and welcoming environment for colleagues and students
Preferred Qualifications:
- MSN
- 1. Teaching experience in health professions education
2. Experience in collaborative/interprofessional team environment
3. Record of two years or more successful clinical experience
4. Experience and ability to teach on-line courses

Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position – Frequent 60-90%; Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators – Frequent 60-90%
Additional Physical Requirement:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to constantly move objects.
