Job Summary
Reviews, analyzes, assesses and processes information, records and transcripts for determination of academic credit and eligibility for degrees, and specialized program designations. Assists students and coordinates with departments throughout the application process on issues relating to application completion and submission.
Essential Functions
Evaluates transcripts to determine student eligibility in accordance with applicable University policies and standards. Processes academic applications, transfer credits, and student records utilizing pre-determined University guidelines. Communicates with students and educational stakeholders regarding academic programs and services, enrollment status, and requirements throughout the application process. Processes final actions on program recommendations for admission. Collaborates with program leaders on established guidelines for admissions exceptions. Identifies areas of inconsistency and facilitates resolutions with stakeholders.
Job Duties
Our Admissions Evaluator will be responsible for reviewing and processing applications, transcripts, and official documentation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Your day will be a mix of precision work and personal connection:
• Credential & Document Review: Examine academic records from around the globe, determine equivalencies, and make the tough calls on what qualifies—and what doesn’t. Back up your decisions with strong documentation and justifications.
• Application Processing: Balance detail-oriented recordkeeping with adaptability when processes or federal guidelines shift.
• Student Interaction: Engage with many applicants (many ESL), interpret what’s said and what’s meant, and provide clear, empathetic guidance.
• Outreach & Recruitment Support: Represent WSU in webinars, Zoom sessions, and email communications—helping applicants feel welcomed, empowered, and informed.
Your work will directly shape the student experience—sometimes the very first impression of WSU.
