Pay: Pay starts at $16.49 per hour and can be adjusted based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 12:00pm

Job Story

Come and join our growing team! The School of Social Work is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) administrative assistant to complement our current team.

Job Summary

Performs office support duties of a clerical or secretarial nature. Duties may be comprised of general office duties along with some specialized duties.

Essential Functions

Answers, screens and routes phone calls, may include multi-line phone systems. Greets and directs guests. Prepares and distributes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications, as required. Schedules and supports preparation for meetings, conferences, courses, programs and/or special events. Establishes and maintains filing systems. May order and maintain sufficient inventory of office supplies and equipment.

Job Duties

Front facing administrative support for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program which includes Field Practicum. Responsibilities will include data entry, creating/maintaining manuals, supporting Field Instructor Training, maintaining student files, and scheduling appointments for students with advisors/practicum. Other responsibilities include website maintenance, social media, grade support, and serving as a back-up for timekeeping.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six (6) months of experience in general office, clerical, administrative support or related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work under broad guidelines with limited instructions, determine and organize steps required to accomplish tasks, delegate as appropriate, prioritize and reprioritize as necessary to accomplish tasks within the deadlines.
  • Ability to understand, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; read and comprehend written materials.
  • Ability to proofread and edit for grammar, spelling, syntax and style; compute, verify
    and compare figures; detect discrepancies in information or records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate personal computers and office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.

Additional Physical Requirement:

Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time.,
