Job Story
The NIAR Additive Manufacturing lab is looking for a student assistant who can operate, maintain, and monitor the Additive Manufacturing equipment.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Main job duties include operating, maintaining, and monitoring Additive Manufacturing equipment. Performing maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting on the machines. Keeping up with a schedule of jobs to be run on multiple machines, loading and unloading metallic powders, and the completed jobs from the machines safely and in a timely manner. Storage and organization of materials, and being diligent in documentation and reporting, are very important.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
Require reliable transportation.
A minimum of 20/hrs per week.
Opportunities for work hours are available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, 7 days a week.
Additional Information for Posting
Operators will occasionally be asked to climb ladders to work on machines, lift heavy metal parts and powders, and wear PPE equipment (ventilated masks).
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
