Job Story
Wichita State Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Inc, is searching for professional, service-focused individuals for Event Staff for Charles Koch Arena, Eck Stadium, Wilkins and Cessna Stadium. We deliver memorable experiences that connect all to Shocker Nation Through a Shared Sense of Pride & Passion.
Event Staff is responsible for crowd management and executing Arena, Stadium and WSU-ICAA event policies and procedures.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Collects and verifies tickets from event attendees.
Greets patrons and assists them in finding their seats.
Assists guests with locating exits and amenities such as restrooms and concession areas.
Assists guests with limited mobility or other special needs to and from their seats.
Ensures that aisles, walkways, and designated seating areas are clear, clean, and safe.
Calmly assists with disputes regarding tickets and seats.
Notifies supervisor of any problems with facilities, supplies, and venue.
Assists guests with complaints or concerns; escalates concerns to supervisor when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements
Requires prolonged standing, sitting, walking and stair climbing to access full range of facility.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to work effectively both independently and on a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Exemplify a strong commitment and willingness to provide outstanding customer service.

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Frequent 60-90%
