Job Story
This job is to assist the Campus Recreation Coordinator of Graphics and Marketing in making and maintaining signs; taking pictures during programs and events; reviewing and maintaining social media and websites, starting and completing projects and campaigns; and other duties as assigned.
This job is important. Campus Recreation depends on the Graphics and Marketing Team to help make events and programs successful. Showing up for shifts and completing tasks in a timely manner is important.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong written and visual communication skills
Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions
Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Microsoft Office
Photography, videography, or basic video editing experience
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements
Portfolio. Please submit a portfolio showcasing previous work in marketing or content creation is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating content for social media, websites, or email campaigns
Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, etc.)
Previous work experience (internship, student job, or freelance) in design or marketing
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and other students
Familiar with graphic layout and visual storytelling
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
