Job Details
In a hangar adjacent to McConnell AFB that once housed Boeing Air Force One modification facilities, the MRO team at NIAR WERX provides production design, initial and Supplemental Type Certification, instrumentation installation, modifications and field support/repair. We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team!
Job Summary
Ensures airworthiness quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures with minimal or no supervision. Performs progressive and final inspections of subassemblies, major assemblies, installations, and related components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and drawings in accordance with the quality system for modification or refurbishment.
Essential Functions
Ensures airworthiness quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures with minimal supervision. Performs progressive and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and drawings. Ensures completion and compliance with applicable requirements and regulations. Documents discrepancies, analyzes and identifies cause, and coordinates resolution as appropriate. Provides advice and improvement ideas. Trains, coaches, and mentors, technicians and other inspectors in the performance of their duties within areas of qualification. Performs or oversees functional tests, inspections, and verifications of discrepancies on aircraft. Ensures proper installation and operation of systems. Prepares and maintains required documentation; Ensures regulatory paperwork is complete and requested approvals are obtained. Conducts aircraft weight and balance procedures and aircraft flight control balancing in accordance with acceptable and approved data. Assists with research activities. Conducts internal procedural audits. Performs conformity inspections as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent by hire date.
Five (5) years of aircraft maintenance and two (2) years of aircraft quality inspection required
Required License/Certifications/Training
Airframe and Powerplant certificates required and obtained for a minimum of five (5) years by the date of hire
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge in structural repair and modification, sheet metal fabrication, general aircraft maintenance, and avionics and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to apply planning and problem solving to resolve issues and meet commitments.
Ability to utilize strategic thinking in making decisions / seizing opportunities in the context of business objectives.
Ability to work as a team player in order to partner effectively with others in order to achieve results.
Demonstrated attitude of “Do the Right Thing” in completing work and making change happen to achieve objectives.

Ability to use a variety of measuring tools and basic hand tools with ability to interpret / operate test equipment.
Ability to interpret / process relative (foreign & domestic) regulatory documents, actions and requirements (FAR, CAA, RSM/QCM, FAA, AD, SB, CFR, TCDS, etc.).
Basic knowledge of aircraft inspection programs.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Thorough knowledge of return-to-service procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly and sufficiently in both verbal (English) and written (English) form as defined by regulations with appropriate etiquette and decorum to represent the Quality Department in a professional manner at all times.
Ability to coach and mentor fellow employees in performance of their duties in areas of qualification.
Physical Requirements
Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs. Ability to position self for inspection, construction or maintenance of equipment and/or buildings including confined, elevated and loud noise spaces. Ability to inspect work, materials, equipment, and/or supplies and identify any errors, needs, and/or determining factors. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation. Ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially, both receptively and expressively.
