Job Story
The NIAR Full Scale Structural Test lab is looking for a Facilities Student Assistant.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Assist the NIAR Full Scale staff with a variety of assignments critical to tasks in support of customer projects. Tasking may include meeting support, front desk management, mailroom, freight shipping, facility maintenance tasks, escort of vendors. Tasks may include general business operations tasks if qualified and experienced.

Assist Full Scale shop staff with test setup build and facility maintenance.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements
The work is 100% on site at the NIAR ASTEC Coliseum facility in Park City KS.

Additional Information
Mix of shop and office tasks, in conditioned and unconditioned spaces. Applicant should be able to lift and safely climb in and out of test fixtures.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
