Job Story
The NIAR ARC team is looking for a student assistant.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
As a member of our Robotics and Automation group, you will be responsible for developing and designing automated systems for industrial applications. Our team conducts research and design for a diverse range of clients and is dedicated to advancing the field of intelligent manufacturing processes. Examples include systems developed to perform, automated inspection, robotic processing, automated damage repair. Alongside developing these systems, you will be responsible for enabling digital twin technologies through simulation, verification, and closed loop sustainment.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor' s or Master's degree.
Enthusiastic and willing to learn from a variety of specialist in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
Ability to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate ideas and solutions.
Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
