Export Compliance Requirement
This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
-Operate the press lab machinery and assist with ongoing operations within the lab.
-Perform manual labor intensive tasks such as switching molds, operating power tools, operating injection molding machines and repair work.
-Work on CAD design projects and MS Office applications.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements
-Able to work for 20 hours during school semesters and 40 hours during summer
-Easily able to understand and perform labor-intensive work on manufacturing/maintenance operations on the ENGEL and Krauss Maffei machines.
-Be self-motivated to perform maintenance or organization/cleaning duties when necessary.
-Able to easily grasp new and wide-ranging concepts such as robot programing, injection molding machine programming, chiller, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting etc...
-Attention to detail with all tasks ensuring high quality results (TC wiring, tool prepping, mold polishing) in a timely manner.
-Cleanliness and organization of lab space ensuring all tools and machinery are maintained in good working condition.
-Ability to follow basic safety procedures to minimize accidents and harm to others within the work cell.
-Become forklift certified and operate an overhead crane

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
