Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Looking for a fast-paced job where no two days are the same? Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is looking for energetic, customer-focused team members to help create a great experience for our guests.

As a Guest Server, you'll be one of the first faces guests see when they visit. You'll help provide outstanding service, maintain a welcoming atmosphere, and support daily operations in a fun and active entertainment environment. The position involves direct interaction with guests, cashiering, stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and helping ensure every guest has an enjoyable experience.

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements
Must be able to provide friendly, professional customer service while interacting with a diverse group of guests.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, carry, and stock supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to follow established cash handling, food safety, and operational procedures.
Must work well both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests. Based on the position description, the role requires excellent verbal communication, teamwork, independent work, sound judgment, and a strong customer service focus.

Required Experience

Preferred Qualifications
Previous customer service, hospitality, restaurant, retail, or recreation experience.
Experience handling cash transactions and operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Ability to provide exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience working as part of a team while maintaining individual responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy setting.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
Interest in hospitality, customer service, food service, recreation, or event operations.
