Job Story
The Teacher Apprentice Pathways, Literacy and Special Education (TALS) Graduate Assistant (GA) will collaborate with and assist faculty in the Special Education (SPED) programs in non-teaching activities. Specific duties of the GA vary widely, depending on the administrative or academic unit to which they are assigned, but should be at a level to make use of their education and abilities.

A Graduate Staff Assistant (GSA) assistants university service and academic units in either non-teaching or non-research activities. Specific duties of the GSA vary widely, depending on the administrative or academic unit to which they are assigned, but should be at a level to make use of their education and abilities.

Job Duties
Collaborate with Faculty

Assist with presentations, grant proposals by:

Assisting with Literature Reviews

Implementing Data Collection and analyzing data

Preparing Research Materials

Assist with social media

Other duties as needed and assigned

Required Education
Bachelor's degree

Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an education or education related field, counseling, school psychology, administration, leadership, or related.

Relevant experience in conducting research and data analysis (could be encompassed within graduate work).

Required Experience
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a degree program in either full or conditional standing. Students admitted on probation or placed on academic probation following admission may be eligible for assistantship awards under certain circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Ability to thoroughly complete all work assignments
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills and desire to be a team player.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Currently enrolled as a Graduate student at WSU
• Demonstrate leadership potential.
• Be self-motivated with a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
