Work Schedule: 7:45 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday; work is performed on-site and in person.
Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join our university community and play a vital role in fostering a safe, healthy, and compliant campus environment. This position coordinates with various areas to complete assigned environmental health and safety functions and inspections. Provides guidance and assistance and is responsible for promoting a safe and healthy workplace. Implements plans based on contracts, regulations, applicable laws and audit/inspection results to ensure that compliance is maintained. May provide training to employees in areas including, but not limited to, environmental, health and safety management best practices, and assisting with hazard identification and control.
Job Summary

May provide training to employees in areas including, but not limited to, environmental, health and safety management best practices, and assisting with
hazard identification and control.
Essential Functions
• Leads and/or coordinates investigations of safety related incidents involving applicable University and/or community partners. Audits and ensures safety plans are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Conducts audits of lab/department. Generates audit reports for corrective action as needed.
• Maintains records for and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Communicates on safety related needs and develops program action plans.
• Reviews and analyzes safety-related data. Prepares reports for regulatory agencies, committees and/or leadership.
• Manages a hazardous materials and waste program that complies with all regulatory and
requirements.
• Provides educational training related to safety and emergency preparedness practices.
• Coordinates and/or facilitates project tasks as assigned; Documents and tracks project progress compared to goal
