Work Schedule; work is performed on-site and in person.
Mon & Wed or Tue & Thur, dependent on class schedule. Time will consist of 10 hours per week, split as needed between days. One-time after hours or Saturday event will be worked into schedule as possible.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
The Emergent Leadership Student Assistant - Applied Learning position provides practice in developing leadership skills through:
• event planning and execution
• cross-organizational teamwork
• analysis of situations to provide insight
• fostering engagement among a diverse population
Assistance may include helping with events or projects as required (i.e., identifying, listing, and preparing materials for events, event set-up/tear-down, creating documents/spreadsheets/signage, reviewing books/research/theory/data that could be applied in support of a specific population, etc.) and other duties as assigned.

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements
U.S. Citizenship and Real ID, no exceptions.

Required Experience
This is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and/or preferences.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
