Job Story
The Human Factors in Cybersecurity Student Assistant will work directly with the research development team to support the design and implementation of human subject experiments. This role offers hands-on experience with designing and implementing web interfaces, designing surveys, and analyzing data. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and execution of experiments with human subjects.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
• Assist in designing and developing Web interfaces following human factors principles.
• Support research into state-of-the-art methods for human factors in cybersecurity.
• Help develop surveys for human subject experiments.
• Participate in documentation of technical solutions.
• Assist with data collection and data analysis.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with ability to learn new technologies quickly with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with and understand complex systems.
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis, human factors, and cybersecurity principles.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn from a variety of specialists in the fields of human factors, AI/ML, IoT, and cybersecurity.
• Working knowledge of general-purpose programming languages such as Python.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Preferred Qualifications
• Preference for completion of at least one cybersecurity course and one human factors course.
• Experience building websites or other coding projects.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis such ANOVA.

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
